Ciara Everard and Thomas Barr qualify (Video)
Barr secured a spot in Friday’s final after a confident run, and another sub-50 second clocking, when winning his semi-final in 49.75 seconds.Barr breezed through his first round heat yesterday (Wednesday), winning in a time of 49.96 seconds.
Ciara Everard was made to work hard for her place in tomorrow’s final but her time of 2:02:10, her second fastest ever, proved good enough to secure a lane in the final as one of the fastest losers.

Dibaba runs fastest time since 1997 while Soulieman sets World Lead over 800m
Genzebe Dibaba sets fastest time over 1500m in Barcelona where she won her race in 3.54 while Ayanteh Soulieman took down the 800m in 1.43 setting a World Lead.

Yego eyes World Title
Yego set a world lead of 91.39 metres at the Birmingham Diamond League. It was the first time in 12 years that an athlete had thrown beyond the 90 metres mark.
“The Bird’s Nest is a good stadium and I have enjoyed competing there before. I look forward to do well again and win gold so that I can join a league of celebrated Kenyans who have won gold at the World Championships,” he said.
