Dibaba and Souleiman blitz Barcelona

Jama Aden may be a name unfamiliar with many but he’s becoming something of a “super coach” producing outstanding results over the last number of years. Aden hails from Sudan and among his current crop are Ethiopian starlet Genzebe Dibaba and Djibouti’s Ayanleh “soul man” Souleiman.

In Barcelona last night Dibaba blitzed to 3:54.11 to keep up her mesmerising form. The had an enthralling battle with Almaz Ayana over 5,000m in Paris last week as they went toe to toe in search of new world record. The up-and-down pace scuppered the world record but a last lap of 61 seconds saw her record a personal best of 14:15.41 – the ninth fastest time in history.

Ayanleh Souleiman has been rounding in to good form and finished second over 1500m in Paris in 3:30.17. You can watch his post-race interview below his swift 1:43.09 – a new personal best
