Kirani James Opens in Style, Bolt Begins 200m Campaign

Kirani James got his 400m season off to an ideal start taking victory in the Sun Angel Classic clocking 44.31 seconds. That time puts him straight to the top of the 2015 world list, and is the 7th fastest time of his career to date. He didn’t quite have it all his own way with another 22 year old Grenadian, Bralon Taplin, pushing him for 350m and eventually clocking a PB of 44.89 seconds behind James.

Usain Bolt opened his short-sprint campaign with a 200m win at the 2015 2015 UTech Classic on Saturday April 11th. Bolt was largely unchallenged and ran to victory in 20.20 seconds, stating afterwards that he was a bit disappointed to not break the 20 second barrier first time out. Nesta Carter was his closest challenger clocking 20.60 seconds. Bolt’s next outing is the 100m in Rio on April 19th.
