Twitter Voices Its Opinion On Gatlin’s Nike Deal
Justin Gatlin will be running under the Nike swoosh for the 2015 season after the sports brand signed him to a sponsorship deal. There have been reports that Tyson Gay has also signed up with Nike but this not the case – he is however training with a Nike sponsored group under his new coach John Smith. Jo Pavey, who inspired so many last season with one the most successful seasons of her career, has been dropped from her Nike sponsorhip deal. Social media has been awash with outrage after confirmation of the Gatlin deal – check out some of the most popular tweets below, including Nike sponsored Paula Radcliffe. World and Olympic discus champion, and Nike athlete, Robert Harting famously withdrew from the 2014 athlete of the year nominations after Gatlin was included, we’ll have to wait and see if he speaks out on the issue.

So Justin Gatlin will wear Nike gear. So did Lance Armstrong, Marion Jones. Swoosh likes money, doesn't mind black hat. Never has.

If it's true Nike has dropped Jo Pavey after her inspirational 2014 and then signed Justin Gatlin, they really are off their rocker.

Nike pay Gatlin and Gay actual money to promote their brand. I can't even express the disgust. #boycottswoosh

Gatlin gets Nike deal having served 2 doping bans when clean athletes lead world indoor rankings & have no funding or sponsorship! Justice?

Nike confirmed as the worst of the worst backing Gatlin doping. They know doping has prolonged maybe permanent effects after usage.

Justin Gatlin becomes the 2nd athlete Nike has ever suspended a contract with to sign a new deal. Michael Vick was the 1st.

Heartening thing about the Nike/Gatlin/Gay story is the almost universal crawling of flesh in the British athletics community. Very proud.

Nike signs US Olympic sprinter/ former doping offender Justin Gatlin. Asked for rationale, Nike tells WSJ: pic.twitter.com/5VPNupIJxW

Sport is a crazy world to be in. When the majority try to rid sport of drug cheats & then a major brand sponsors a multiple drug cheat…mad
