Kiprop Takes Rudisha’s 800m World Lead

Beijing Olympic 1500m champion Asbel Kiprop has momentarily stolen David Rudisha’s limelight by posting the fastest 800m in the world this year. Kiprop clocked 1.44.40 at the Athletics Kenya relay series, which acts as a precursor to their final trials which will be used to select the Kenyan teams for the world relay championships in the Bahamas on May 1st & 2nd. Kiprop is hoping to tackle the 800m leg as part of the Kenyan Medley relay, and has made himself favourite for the slot with this victory, with 3 men behind him also running sub-1.46. Check out the highlights of the race below as well as an interview with the man of the moment.
